A fish fillet knife for anyone who fishes, or loves cooking and eating fresh fish. The sharp, durable stainless steel blade is very thin, so it bends and flexes to move easily along the backbone and under the skin. It's tough enough for larger fish, but small and flexible enough for filleting smaller fish.
Solid heartwood handle with brass rivets. It comes in a black PVC sheath, so you can take it on the boat or keep it in your tackle box.
Blade 22cm, total length 35cm.
The colour of the timber handle can vary from the photo.
Pair it with the Svord sharpening steel. It's made to fit the pocket on the sheath, so you can keep the edge keen out on the boat.
Designed by master cutler Bryan Baker and made by his team of knife makers at Svord in Waiuku, Aotearoa New Zealand.
About Svord: Master cutler Bryan Baker started his knife-making company in 1983, at 18, after being made redundant when the engineering firm he worked for closed. He turned a knife-making hobby into a business making high quality kitchen, hunting and fishing knives at a reasonable price. Starting small, Svord has grown its range over the years and sells to many countries from its home base in New Zealand. Quality Swedish cutlery steel combined with Bryan's own heat treating and tempering is what gives Svord blades their cutting edge.
Care: Hand wash in warm soapy water and dry straight away. Never put it in the dishwasher. Use a wooden chopping board, and store in a knife block, on a magnetic strip or in its sheath. Have it professionally sharpened about once a year, or whenever it starts to feel dull. In Christchurch we recommend KASS Sharpening Services on St Asaph Street.
We ship nationwide across Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally to selected destinations.
