Bone handle chef knife by Lorimer Knives made in Central Otago, New Zealand

Regular price $1,015.00

A chef's knife for all kinds of kitchen prep, made by the acclaimed team at Lorimer Knives. It has a sharp 20cm tool steel blade, brass bolsters and a finished cow bone handle. Each knife is unique, as the grain of the bone varies.

Stamped with the knife maker's signature and packaged in a wooden box.

Made in Central Otago. Jamie Pickford now heads up the business, with founder Peter Lorimer overseeing every part of the process, from forging, grinding and hardening the blades to making the boxes they come in.

Care: The blade is tool steel, prized by knifemakers because it holds a sharp edge for a long time. It's rust-resistant but not fully stainless, so hand wash and dry straight away, and never put it in the dishwasher or leave it wet. Have it professionally sharpened about once a year, or whenever it starts to feel dull. In Christchurch we recommend KASS Sharpening Services on St Asaph Street.
