Hook spoon carving knife made in Auckland, New Zealand

A hook knife designed for hollowing out the bowl of a wooden spoon when carving greenwood, whether you're a hobbyist or a keen carver.

The blade is easy to use and maintain. It's fullered down its length before bending, which creates two high spots on the inside that guide a strop and reduce the amount of steel you need to remove when sharpening.

Total length 18.5cm, with a 12cm octagonal white ash handle.

Made in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland by The Solo Blacksmith.

Care: Wipe clean and dry straight after use, and store safely to protect the edge. High carbon steel will patina to a dull grey; if rust appears, rub back with a Scotch-Brite-type pad.
