A hand thrown tea strainer basket by Thea Ceramics. The wide rim of the tea strainer is designed to sit on the rim of a cup. The basket sits inside the vessel allowing the boiling water to step the leaves of the tea which sit in the basket. Holes have been hand punched into the basket to let the water drain through the leaves.
Tea leaves are often a much higher quality then the leaves in tea bags and the process of steeping tea adds to your tea ritual.
Glazed in Kirikiri, a natural tone that enhances the colour of the clay. Kirikiri means sand or shoreline in te reo Māori which is an apt description of this colour.
10cm diameter x 5cm tall. Please note that sizing is approximate as all items are hand thrown. Dishwasher safe.
