Jug by Jordie MacDonald of Ōtautahi, Aotearoa

A handleless jug in two sizes: small, ideal for one or two serves of milk for tea, and medium, perfect for syrup or cream.

Small: 6cm base diameter x 5cm high
Medium: 7.5cm base diameter x 6.5cm high

Jordie MacDonald works from a shared pottery studio in New Brighton, Ōtautahi Christchurch. After a year of testing she created a clay blend from two Canterbury deposits – Kakahū and Glentunnel – accessed through the Canterbury brick works in Darfield. Jordie's goal is to use the most local materials possible, to be sustainable and add local meaning to each piece. All the clay is hand-processed: the two clays are mixed together in buckets, then sieved and dried in pillowcases.
