Urban Gardener is a year-long exploration of urban gardening in Ōtautahi Christchurch, following the seasons through people’s gardens across the city. Created through a successful Boosted crowdfunding campaign in 2023, the book brings together photographs and transcribed conversations, capturing each gardener’s relationship with a garden — curiosity, inspiration, and reflection within these unique urban spaces we call gardens.
Urban Gardener is a book to be picked up, started, stopped, and added to — something to grow with and change alongside. Perhaps part journal, a place to have conversation, and to add your own stories, thoughts, and notes.
