2021 was a difficult year in Waipara with early autumn frosts bringing devastation to many vineyards across the region. Instead of dwelling on their shortcomings (in this case, not being able to afford frost protection) the Bryterlater team made rosé! The result is an incredible patchwork quilt of the valley.
Syrah is the notable boss with a lil’ sauvignon and riesling. There was some incredible syrah in the vineyard and the best of it got hand sorted and was suspended in the rosé juice during ferment adding an anaerobic carbonic complexion to this beautifully ugly duckling.
Raspberry, blush red apple, pomegranate, floral, botanicals, briny, white pepper.
