Chopper made in Te Miro, Aotearoa

A unique kitchen implement for cutting dough, herbs, cheese, corn off the cob etc. This hand crafted chopping tool made of black maire timber has a smooth rounded handle for grip and a surprisingly sharp blade for cutting. Finished with a food safe, plant-based oil and wax. Presented in white tissue with tag detailing the origin of the wood and features. 

Black maire is a native Aotearoa timber highly regarded historically for tool and weapon making. This particular timber comes from a salvaged log, found at an old logging site in the Pureora Forest, in central North Island. 

Each chopper is individually handmade so grain, colouring and shape will vary.
